“YOU HAVE GIVEN US HOPE”

In the Maracaibo region of Venezuela, a mighty band of volunteers are providing very special care from their humble base on a small farm on the outskirts of the city. Dogs, cats, burros, monkeys, rabbits and just about any animal in need is welcome here. But the difficulty is that there has been a massive shortage of veterinary supplies throughout Venezuela, bringing the clinic to it’s knees.

Earlier this month, Harmony Fund granted the wish of this special rescue squad and they have been very busy making the most of that kindness.

“So far we have bought much needed food, a microscope to replace the one that was stolen and a beautiful surgical kit with over 40 scalpels, scissors and everything needed for the operating room,” Linda Cox from ASODEPA said. “We also received the supplies to continue the construction on the nursery and recovery room.”

They are also planning to purchase an air conditioner for their surgery room as the weather in Maracaibo is hot year round.

“You have given us hope again in a place where the situation gets much worse everyday especially with the outbreak of the sika virus. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have made possible. We still have $1,300 left to buy anesthetics and medications. God bless you!”
