Cotton is a vital crop. But its production uses vast quantities of water and pesticidesdepleting and polluting water supplies for people, wildlife and damaging fresh water ecosystems.
This can be changed with organic cultivation. Organic cotton does not allow the use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticides or genetically modified seeds, and requires better management practices that increase soil fertility, such as manuring and crop rotation.
Nukleus together with their channel partner, BMS Organics, have released a series of Meat Free Monday (MFM) organic cotton T-shirts, and have pledged to support WWF-Malaysia by contributing RM10 for every T-shirt sold before 31 January, 2016.
