RESCUE ROUND UP: 08 JANUARY 2016
1. MacKenzie, the reticulated python was crossing the road and decided to climb under a car for immediate refuge. Thankfully the car owner was very understanding and also concerned for the python. Our rescue team checked to ensure that MacKenzie was not stuck but just hiding in the car. The car owner kindly parked the car near a vegetated area for a whole day and ensured that the python was no longer above the wheel before driving off the next day.
2. Lady Yin, the reticulated python was found hiding and resting behind the altar. Our team and residents around were not too surprised, as there was a lot of vegetation behind a busy coffee shop which are favourite hangouts for rats. We are grateful to the onlookers who were concerned for the python and asked us not to harm the snake!
3. At times we come across animals on the roads on our own when returning from calls. Chevron the rock pigeon was spotted at the exit of an expressway at midnight. We quickly U-turned to get her – she was stunned in shock with a superficial injury to her neck. Chevron was good to go following some rest and incubation.
