My Dedicated Feline Nursemaids

For the past 2-3 months, I had been ill. That’s life. We cannot be in the pink of health all the time. That is why there had been rather few home cat stories. I could only manage to get the neutering blogposts up every day.  There was still a lot of of work to be done – the email correspondence, the disbursements of the neutering aid, the report-writing and accounting. In sickness or in good health, that work doesn’t stop. Applicants are always waiting for the financial aid to continue their good work with the street animals.

But luckily, I had dedicated feline nursemaids all around me, to help me out during this difficult period.

The most dedicated of all them is Heidi. When I was in bed and also struggling to get up in the mornings, she would lie in bed with me and accompany me as long as I needed. At night and in the early mornings, she came to check in on me in bed too.

When Heidi was off-duty, Daffodil took over. Hers was more of looking intently into my eyes and “talking” to me (making her cute little noises). I’m sure she was asking me how I was and if there was anything she could do to help.

Daffodil: I’m here with you, don’t you worry. I’m right here.

She would lay down with me on the sofa too.

I think Daffodil instructed Ginger to look after me as well.

Ginger: I’m the boy-nursemaid!

When inside in the room, it was always Tabs.

Having a cat on your lap can be very therapeutic.

Even Cleo chipped in with the nursing duty!

Actions speak louder than words, they say. It’s so true with cats, especially those who nurse and care for you, in their own special ways!
