I have only been in this world for a few weeks but my suffering has already begun. I am a little girl called Calanthe and I was found with a large wound on my ear. I was all alone with no mother in sight. The kind lady who found me brought me straight to the Soi Dog shelter.

I was infested with fleas and the chronic wound on my right ear extended all the way around my head. I wish I could tell the vets how this happened, but I guess they will never know. The wound was dangerously infected by the time that lady found me and it was filled with maggots.

Please help dogs like me. I have done nothing to deserve this suffering; my only crime was to be born. Thanks to people like you, the vets here are able to care for me but without your support, Soi Dog Foundation cannot continue to rescue animals in need.

My wound is cleaned out regularly and the maggots are all gone now. I am healing well and the vets say I have a great appetite, which will help me get stronger. I found out today that the kind lady who found me wants to adopt me when I am ready to go home. This is the best gift of all.
