Imagine being permanently tied up on a chain, in the blazing heat of tropical sunshine, with no access to shade or water. My name is Dumbo; this is what happened to me.

I was chained to a pole in front of my owner�s house for months on end. Day after day, the fiery Thai sun beat down on me. I would gaze longingly at a leafy tree in the garden but it was just out of my reach � the chain that was permanently attached to me was too short to reach it.

I had a horrifically infected wound around my neck from where I fought day in, day out, against that chain. I was severely dehydrated and anaemic. When the Animal Rescue Officer from Soi Dog raced into the garden and cut that chain from me, I collapsed against him. It wasn’t a moment too soon.

Thanks to people like you funding my treatment, the vets at Soi Dog were able to help me. They named me Dumbo after the Disney movie about the elephant – because of my huge ears.

I live in England now. A lovely lady called Pauline has adopted me and the picture on the right is me in my new home. Will you please help Soi Dog rescue more desperate animals like me?
