RESCUED FROM A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH

I am a 3 year old girl called Ying Goi and I was in agony when Soi Dog found me. Some time ago, somebody tied a piece of string tightly around my leg. It must have happened when I was a lot smaller and I will never understand why they did this. As I grew, that string got tighter and tighter, burying itself into my flesh and causing a serious infection.

As the wound grew, I constantly chewed at it, trying to make the pain go away. Meanwhile, the string just kept on cutting deeper and deeper with each passing day. I was just another street dog with nobody to help me. When the Animal Rescue Officer at Soi Dog picked me up, I was in excruciating pain and was also covered in bite wounds from where another dog had attacked me.

It is only thanks to people like you that I am now getting the life-saving treatment I needed. That horrible string was cut away and the painful wound it left was thoroughly cleaned, along with all the bite wounds. I am on special medicine for the pain and the infection. The good news is that I have started to use my leg again and the vets are hopeful I will make a good recovery.

It scares me to think what would have happened without people like you � the Soi Dog supporters who funded my care. Without them, I would still be in the most unimaginable pain. The infection would have continued to spread, eventually causing me septicaemia and in all probability, a very slow and painful death.

Please help Soi Dog care for dogs like me. Without you, we really have no hope. There is no other source of funding to provide us with the treatment we need when we are sick or injured � YOU are all we have.
