Why would anyone want to eat me? My name is Mint and I am a survivor of the illegal dog meat trade.

A very kind person has donated for my transportation costs if you can ADOPT me. Please EMAIL all questions to cristy@soidog.org

Destined to be boiled alive for my meat, I have managed to escape a slow painful death.

Can you imagine being crammed into a cage so small and already full of dogs to be transported on a truck with no shade and no water? The conditions were horrible but somehow some of us survived this brutal journey. I couldn’t even breathe properly there were so many of us in one cage. I could hear the sad cries of many dogs and I still hear them in my dreams.

Where were these people taking me? I could hear the younger dogs crying with fear as we travelled through the night, the older dogs unable to cope with the stress and heat during the day. Many died as we drove towards the border…

Everything changed when I awoke to the rattling of cages and the truck stopping abruptly. All the cages were taken off and we were released and put into a big truck and taken to a special shelter where I now live with hundreds of other dogs.

I am a lovely, sweet girl of about 6 years of age. I wriggle with excitement when I see you. I just so desperately want to be loved. Soi Dog want to help me find a forever home so if you have a place in your heart for me, please EMAIL all questions to cristy@soidog.org.

Every week, Soi Dog Foundation sends survivors of the barbaric dog meat trade to new homes around the world. The process is straightforward and we organise every step of it for you. Please email all questions to cristy@soidog.org
