I WAS DESTINED TO BE SMUGGLED OUT OF THE COUNTRY FOR MY MEAT…

My name is Rover and I am a 4 year old friendly boy. A kind person has donated 50% of my flight costs – I just need to find a home to go to. Please email cristy@soidog.org to ADOPT me.

I have never known such fear – I was grabbed from the street and squashed into a small metal cage with many other dogs and taken away on a truck to cross the border. I am bigger than a normal sized dog and it hurt being in the metal cage with other dogs.

Where were these people taking me? Why were there so many of us? I could hear the younger dogs crying with fear as we travelled through the night, the older dogs unable to cope with the stress and heat during the day. Many died as we drove towards the border.

I don’t know how long we were on this truck of hell but finally we stopped for what felt like a longer time than normal. I heard lots of shouting and felt cages moving underneath me. Why were we being taken off the truck?

These people seemed different – they were looking at us like they cared and were checking if we were okay. We were taken to a big shelter built especially for dogs like us – survivors of the dog meat trade. I have never seen so many dogs.

I now know I am one of the lucky ones. If it hadn’t been for supporters like you, Soi Dog would not have been able to save us. We would be dead. Skinned alive and boiled for our meat.

I am now living at this shelter with so many other dogs. I would dearly like to find a forever home with a comfortable bed, nice food, and a family to love me.

I am friendly with people but a bit wary of all the other dogs. There are so many, so it can be quite stressful. Soi Dog want to help me find a forever home so if you have a place in your heart to adopt me please email cristy@soidog.org.

I have heard great things about the USA, Canada, and Europe and am not fussy – I would like to live in any of these places. My only request is that it is with a family who loves me.

Please email all questions to cristy@soidog.org
