NATIVE WILDLIFE RESCUE ROUNDUP: 27 NOVEMBER 2015
1. (Left top) Momma is a water monitor lizard who was found stuck and injured in a shallow drain by the roadside. She had lost some blood, possibly from a collision with a vehicle, and was in shock when we rescued her. With some fluids and rest overnight, she had perked up by the morning, and we were relieved to find that she had not suffered any major/internal injuries and was all good to be released!
2. (Left bottom) Pottu is a pitta who was stranded and lost, after flying into a solid surface. Pottu recovered from shock with overnight rest and incubation. She was released the very next morning!
3. (Right) Peep is a very pretty paradise tree snake who was found inside someones home. Thankfully the resident was very understanding, and after learning that the snake is a common garden snake species, she informed us that she would just release the snake herself, so that our busy rescue team did not have to make a trip to her home and could carry on attending to other, urgent cases. Thank you for living in harmony with our wildlife!
Do remember to call the ACRES 24-hour Wildlife Rescue Hotline at 9783 7782 if you spot any wild animal in Singapore who may need some help.
