Dear Dr Chan,
Further to our discussion, attached please find the pix in collage.
Both dogs were rescued at newly completed shop units near the JB East Coast Highway. The dogs are among a group of 3-5 that regularly hang around there with the day and night security guards. We and a couple of other dog lovers regularly go there to feed and play with them while giving some dog food to the guards to feed them when we are unable to make it.
The puppies of a third dog (Xiao Huan, mother of Hachiko) there were also recently successfully sent out for adoption. We have also sent Xiao Huan for spaying a few months ago.
1. Hachiko is a 7 month old female, the remainder puppy from a litter of 7 (given birth at the same place) which was unable to be rehomed as she is female and did not look as adorable as her siblings. So she remains in the shop units vicinity, keeping the guards there company. She is the daughter of Xiao Huan, which is the 3rd dog in the pack that hangs around there.
2. Handsome is a young male that we are not sure how old, but which seemed to be comfortable with Xiao Huan (which seemed to have stayed around the area for some time) and formed a pack with her. As he has only recently been more comfortable with human touch after our many visits, he is well over the adoption age.
As the guards seem to be happy to have them around in an area where most of the shops are still new and empty, and taking care of the dogs well, there is no rehoming plan for these dogs at the moment. We have helped to sent a nearby pack to Hope and a dog home in Klaung, and successfully sent several puppies around this area for adoption.
