Tati Ambia shared this. It is a very, very sad story of a tortured cat.
http://tatiambia.blogspot.com/2011/09/momo-malaysian-cat-tortured-alive-saved.html

I read it and I truly feel so very sad for poor Momo.

The key to reducing the incidence of cruelty would be the following:

1. Stricter penalty for animal abuse as a punitive measure to curb cruelty.
2. Educate people that animals are no different from us. They may not be able to speak or reason like us, but they can suffer.

For (1), we do not have any power to enact laws nor to enforce them. We can only put forth proposals and petitions. But once those laws are in force, we can do our part to report cases of cruelty so that justice is done.

For (2) - this is where WE can ALL do our part. We have to educate by example, not by talking.  Here are what we can do:

1.  Look after our pets responsibly and with lots of love.
2.  Feed and look after the stray animals.
3.  Neuter the stray animals, bring the sick ones to the vet for treatment.
4.  Find homes for stray animals.
5.  Support the work of animal welfare NGOs and participate in what they do.
6.  Support wildlife protection efforts.
7.  Eat less meat, or better still, do not eat meat.
8.  Reduce or do not use products where animals have been harmed.
9.  Speak up for the animals.
10. Love an animal as you would your only child.
