HELP END THE SUFFERING FOR DOGS LIKE HER

I was born on the streets of Thailand about 2 years ago. Like millions of other dogs here, those streets are the only home I’ve ever known.

Every day has been a fight just to stay alive – trying to find enough food, and shelter from tropical downpours or blistering sunshine. I was managing to get by, but everything changed the day I was hit by the car. My name is Rungrawee.

When that car ploughed into me, I will never forget the pain and terror I felt. The impact was worst on my left hind leg, which was left seriously injured. Sadly, my first instinct when this happened was to take off. I ran as fast as my painful leg could carry me and simply disappeared.

I took myself into hiding, trying to stay safe and make the pain go away. Instead, things got a lot worse for me. With nobody to care for me, the wound on my injured leg became seriously infected, and was then infested with maggots.

It was two weeks later that I was spotted by a lady who ran to call Soi Dog. I am here at the shelter now and on medication for the pain, but the vets tell me it is sadly too late to save my leg and it will have to be removed to end my suffering.

They tell me I will be asleep when this happens and that I will not feel anything. When I wake up, the pain from that leg will be a thing of the past and the vets are confident I will manage just fine on 3 legs, as so many dogs before me have had to do.

Despite all I’ve been through, I am considered one of the lucky ones. Thanks to the kind-hearted animal lovers that are funding my treatment, my suffering is at an end. I wish the same could be said for every other street animal that needs help.

Animals like me simply have no hope without you. It really doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference to so many of us. A small, monthly gift from you to us means Soi Dog will know how much it has to work with each month when it comes to rescuing dogs like me. Will you please help?

No amount is too small; every penny will make a difference. Without you, the suffering will go on. Please step in to stop it today. Click on my picture to learn more. Thank you.

Every day, Soi Dog Foundation picks up sick and injured animals in desperate need of medical treatment. With no government funding, we urgently need YOUR support to save them.
