NATIVE WILDLIFE RESCUE ROUNDUP: 6 NOVEMBER 2015
1. (Top left) Curve, a young thick-billed green pigeon, became stranded inside SOTA (School of the Arts) one afternoon. After some rest and fluids, Curve was all set to fly away next morning!
2. (Bottom left) Hock is a handsome whip snake, who was spotted resting in front of someones house. Thankfully, Hock was not too far from home, as there was a forested area nearby. Such cases help us to raise much needed public awareness about native wild animals and how to live in harmony with them. Our thanks always go to the members of the public who take the time to call us for advice.
3. (Top right) This little fledgling oriole was lost in a school, but was happily reunited with his parents!
Please call the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Hotline at 9783 7782 for advice if you come across a fledgling bird who appears to be in trouble and may need some help.
4. (Bottom right) Wellwell, a young reticulated python, found herself at the bottom of a 10 storey deep well. We will never know what she was doing in the well or how she got there! Thanks go to the callers who alerted us to her predicament. Our rescue officers enjoyed the challenge of climbing all the way down to rescue Wellwell, and were happy to relocate her to a safe place!
Do remember to call the ACRES 24-hour Wildlife Rescue Hotline at 9783 7782 if you spot any wild animals in Singapore who may need some help.
