A Halloween-Kitty Comes A-Visiting
Tweet |
This morning, I spotted a jet-black kitten walking at the playground. She was actually walking in the direction towards our house but soon disappeared. She did look rather small and I’ve not seen her before.
Then, this evening, as we were about to go out, would you believe it? The same black kitty was already at our front door. It looked like she had confidently come into our house compound and the PatioCats allowed her in.
Here she is.
I’m guessing she’s female, but I really cannot tell.
I offered food, but she was a little scared and hid under the car.
I think it’s a feline code that a self-respecting adult cat will not bully, chase or attack any kitten. I’ve observed this code honoured by our own cats too. They might terrorise adult cats but they never chase or harm kittens.
So the little black kitten wandered about the compound, quite happily.
She finally settled down under Vincent’s table. I put the bowl of food there but she wasn’t interested.
I texted our neighbourhood chat group to see if anyone had lost a black kitty, but no one responded.
We had to go out so I left her there since it was quite safe. I know the PatioCats will not bully her.
When we returned, the little black kitty was gone. The food wasn’t eaten at all.
Perhaps she came to pay us a visit for Halloween…
