WHEN I WAS NO LONGER A CUTE PUPPY, I WAS DUMPED ON THE STREET
I am different to the many street dogs here at the shelter. Unlike them, I was not born on the streets. I was once somebody’s pet – probably bought from a breeder. I am a one year old beagle and my name is Spangle.
I know I may not look very much like a beagle right now, but it’s really not my fault. Once I’d outgrown the cute puppy stage, my owner stopped taking care of me. I lived a life of neglect until eventually, I was dumped on the street.
A kind lady spotted me one day – I simply turned up at her store, starving and suffering from horrendous skin problems. The lady was horrified by my poor condition and so she called Soi Dog.
Here at the shelter, I have been diagnosed with demodectic mange. My once beautiful fur has fallen out everywhere, my body is covered in crusty sores from my constant scratching, and I am weak and anaemic. I will never know what I did to deserve this.
Despite what I have been through, the vets say I am eating well and they are hopeful I will eventually make a full recovery. It will be a long road for me, but I hope one day to feel better and to then find my forever home, where I will never be thrown out on the street again.
I owe everything to people like you – the Soi Dog supporters whose donations are funding my care. Without that, there would have been nowhere for the nice lady to call when she found me. What would have become of me, left to suffer alone on the street?
Dogs like me desperately need more kind people to help us. Soi Dog cannot save us without you. It really doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference – every penny donated will add up to achieve so much.
Will you please help us? Without you, there is nothing. Please click on my picture to start making a difference today. You truly are our only hope.
Every day, Soi Dog Foundation picks up sick and injured animals in desperate need of medical treatment. With no government funding, we urgently need YOUR support to save them.
