Alarie wrote to me a few days ago, requesting help for a female cat and her new kittens (3 months old).
The cat is in the box. SO obedient? Oh wow...that's nice.
Alarie has been looking after her for more than 3 months now. She came to Alarie's house when she was pregnant and has since delivered and finished breastfeeding her babies.
Where are the kittens, I asked? I had thought we would get the kittens dewormed. Well, what do you know? Alarie said our other panel vet offered to let him put the kittens in his clinic and he'd try to get them adopted within a week.
Alarie calls the mother-cat "Patches".
Our vet checked and suspects Patches may be already pregnant. Alarie did not know female cats could get pregnant again even as early as 2 weeks after delivery.
The plan now is to bring Patches back in 2 weeks to ascertain if she is indeed pregnant. If she is not, she will be spayed. If she is, we'll have to wait until after she delivers.
