Allow Bigger Dogs Under HDB Scheme, Animal Groups Urge

 


Project ADORE (“ADOption and REhoming of dogs in HDB flats”), first mooted by the SPCA and the Action for Singapore Dogs (ASD) in 2011, piloted in November 2012 and formalised in late May 2014, has paved the way for more suitable, local shelter dogs to find forever, public housing homes. Today, the SPCA, the ASD and SOSD Singapore underwrite the adoption of shelter dogs by HDB homeowners. The dog adoptable under Project ADORE, needs to be a local, mixed breed, up to 50cm tall and weighing up to 15kg, and be of a suitably calm temperament and trainable.



A scheme allowing Housing Board flat owners to keep bigger dogs at home – as long as they are adopted from an approved shelter – has been hailed a success.. Read more at straitstimes.com.
