DOLPHIN DORSAL FINS ARE JUST LIKE FINGERPRINTS

Did you know that dolphins each have a unique-looking dorsal fin? This is because nicks and scars caused by dominance fights, injuries (such as those inflicted by propeller collisions) or deformities are unique to each individual.

For this reason, dolphin researchers aim to obtain high-resolution photos of the dorsal fin to distinguish and identify each individual.

We seek your help in looking for a kind soul who is willing to donate a DSLR camera with a lens of up to 400mm zoom (second-hand is fine), to help our dolphin research team with our study of dolphins in Singapore waters . Please email Isabelle at isabelle@acres.org.sg if you know of that generous person. Thank you!
