PYTHON RESCUE VIDEO: WATCH THE ACRES WILDLIFE RESCUE TEAM IN ACTION!
An adult reticulated python was resting in a puddle of water. Nothing out of the ordinary there, but unfortunately this was inside a construction site at Rochor! Given the location with an adjacent canal, this python probably navigated at night, got lost and chose to rest there for the day. Thanks go to the site workers who called us to help relocate the python safely, and also helped to keep an eye on the snake until we arrived.
The rescue had to be done carefully and quickly to minimise stress for the snake and to ensure safety for our officers as well.
Reticulated pythons are one of our native species of snakes, who have become used to our urban spaces where rodents a main food source for them – can be found. Pythons are shy, and it is best to leave them alone in canals and natural spaces.
Please remember to subscribe to our YouTube Channel, and check out our videos about the work that we do!
Do remember to call the ACRES 24-hour Wildlife Rescue Hotline at 9783 7782 if you spot any wild animal in Singapore who may need some help.
