A day in the life of an AWO: Dog walking! Every dog above 4 months old gets a 20-30 minute walk. Some dogs are nervous, have never Walked on leash before, or can be aggressive towards other dogs or humans. These need special care and socialization.

We are walking dogs until 12 noon or 12.30. If we are understaffed or don’t have volunteers, staff will walk around 10 dogs or more. On an average day each staff walks 5-8 dogs.
