ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT: SAKURA, rescued from a cage (with other cats) at Toa Payoh
Sakura, a 2-year-old female, seal point Cross-Siamese mother cat, was rescued by SPCA from being trapped in a small cage (also containing her three kittens and another two, adult cats, all in the same cage) outside her ex-owner’s ground floor HDB unit at Toa Payoh, in late June 2015. There was hardly any water provided for all the felines, according to our informer. (See comments below for a photo of the cats and kittens being confined in the same cage, as seen on 23 June 2015.)
All the cats and kittens from the cage were taken into SPCA’s custody and brought to our shelter. Following our veterinarians’ observation and care, Sakura was fostered along with her kittens, by one of our kind foster families. Mother and kittens are all coping well, according to the foster family. Whilst the kittens are still in foster care (and should be up for adoption at our shelter when ready), Sakura is now ready for adoption at our shelter. She’s highly adoptable and lovable and eagerly awaiting her forever family.
{On a side note, the other two cats rescued from the same cage, and whom we named Polo (a 1-year-old, male Cross-Maine Coon) and Halo (a 6-month-old, female Cross-Siamese), have already been adopted by Ms Mabel de Lourdes and her kind family. Mabel’s updated us that Polo has been renamed Meky and Halo as Arepita, and that both are coping great at home! Thanks, Mabel and family!} (See comments below where we’d be posting photos of Polo, now Meky, and Halo, now Arepita, in their new home sweet home, courtesy of Mabel and family.)
To adopt Sakura, do come by our shelter any day, except Thursdays, between 11am and 3pm. Sakura’s adoption profile is posted on this page:-
