Very Sad to inform that 5 puppies have been swept away by the rain..when they fell into the drain...now left 3 ..my friend told me the mother dog is very sad! And she doesn't come too near people :(
We've sourced rescuer, Koo, to help out and the rescue was supposed to be carried out tomorrow. Looks like it's two days too late.
But this is the plight of stray animals. We do not have trained rescuers nor the equipment/skills and expertise. We do not have rescue teams that are on stand-by, unlike what is available in some other countries. We do not have enough sanctuaries to put these animals in, but then again, will there EVER be enough sanctuaries at the rate stray animals procreate? A female dog can produce as many as twelve puppies per litter. A female cat, as many as seven.
So, it all boils down to what we are working so hard to promote - spay-neuter. Yet, it is sad that there are people who are still against spaying-neutering their own pets who roam freely. By the way, I've spoken to the pakcik down my street again, and he's made it really clear now what he wants (or rather, doesn't want).
A few days ago, another lady also called to ask for help for her dogs, and she also refuses to spay-neuter. Some have their personal reasons on why they cannot spay-neuter.
