NATIVE WILDLIFE RESCUE ROUNDUP: 21 AUGUST 2015

1. (Top left) Honda is a little swift who had an awkward landing, possibly after flying onto something solid. Like bats, swifts are unable to take off from the ground. Honda received some fluids and rest, and all went well with his/her take off that evening!

2. (Right) Eve was home alone! Literally found stranded in an unoccupied house! Thanks go to the concerned neighbours, who didnt see any adult civets around and called us for assistance. With some patience and a long time spent at the same location that night, our rescue officers were finally able to let out a sigh of relief when they heard the mother civets footsteps on the roof. Nothing beats reuniting a lost baby with his/her mother! Eve was finally safe.

3. (Bottom left) Plump is a pink-necked pigeon, found on the floor by students at the Singapore Sports School. We are so thankful to their resourcefulness in giving us proper information, containing the bird and patiently waiting for assistance! Fortunately, Plump was not injured, but possibly in shock. He flew away well after some rest and warmth.

Do remember to call the ACRES 24-hour Wildlife Rescue Hotline at 9783 7782 if you spot any wild animals in Singapore who may need some help.
