PLEASE DON�T TURN AWAY FROM DOGS LIKE ME

I am Nalsa, a two year old girl, who was found with a shocking wound on my neck. It had clearly been there for some time, judging by the severe infection that had set in and the horrible infestation of maggots. This is no life for a dog, but YOUR help is desperately needed to change it.

At the Soi Dog shelter, Dr Win examined me and removed so many dead maggots from that painful wound. A lot of the surrounding tissue was rotting or dying and he had to cut it away to expose the healthy tissue underneath. He started me on special medicine called antibiotics and also medication for the unbearable pain I was in.

I am slowly improving now, and Dr Win is hopeful I will make a full recovery, but I really did come so close to death on those streets. Without Soi Dog supporters, I could never have been picked up and helped. I would have continued to wander those streets in pain, as the infection got worse and septicaemia set in. I would have died a lonely, agonising death.
