OUR OUTDOOR KITCHEN IS REPAIRED!

When we established the Outdoor Sanctuary Area back in 2013, we needed to construct a small area in which volunteers and staff could prepare the daily food for the rescued tortoises. We managed to construct this small outdoor kitchen by recycling some wooden pallets! This humble corner lasted for about two years before it started giving way this year, as the wood was not intended for outdoor use.

Luckily, a kind donor passed us some old outdoor decking wood she had lying around her house. This outdoor decking wood is solid and weatherproof. With some adjustments and DIY know-how here and there, we have rebuilt our little kitchen corner! This new setup should last us a long time, as we continue to provide the best care possible for the rescued animals in our care.
