YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE: UPCOMING WILDLIFE GUARDIAN/WILDLIFE RESCUE VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Were delighted to offer you a unique opportunity to learn about wild animals and play a hands-on role in wildlife rescue work, through our Wildlife Guardian and Wildlife Rescue volunteer programmes!

The programmes offer rewarding and enriching experiences for you, and directly benefit the animals that you help.

Here are the details of the next training programmes:

Wildlife Guardian Training Programme

Date: 22nd August 2015

Time: 10am 5pm

Fee: SGD $30.00

Wildlife Guardians play a key role in caring for reptiles (turtles, tortoises, snakes, lizards) rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. Wildlife Guardians may also assist with proving care and medical treatment for young and/or injured native wild animals.

The training programme covers the following topics:

Best practices for animal care and husbandry.

Animal enclosure maintenance.

Planning and designing of environmental enrichment.

Food preparation and tending to the organic garden.

Wildlife Rescue Training Programme

Date: 29th August 2015

Time: 10am 5pm

Fee: SGD $30.00

Wildlife Rescue volunteers assist with round-the-clock rescues of injured/displace wild animals all over Singapore.

During the training programme, you will learn how to:

1. Identify the types of rescue cases and assess injuries sustained by wild animals.

2. Handle native wild animals.

3. Understand common behaviours of native species to provide sound advice to members of the public concerning encounters with/harmonious living alongside wild animals.

4. Identify and assist with rescue of exotic (non-native) species.
