I will never know what I did wrong. You humans confuse me. I am a beautiful girl of 8 months who only wants to be loved. My name is Svenja.

Soi Dog Foundation received a distressed message from a very kind lady who had seen me being regularly beaten with a stick by a horrible woman who didn�t want me hanging around her house. You see, I don�t have a home of my own – I am a street dog of Thailand, like millions of others.

Some people are kind to us and many people feed the street dogs in their communities, but others don�t like them getting too close. I was only hanging around the woman�s house in the hope of finding something to eat. I will never understand why she needed to hit me to make me go away.

Thanks to the kind lady who contacted Soi Dog, I was picked up by an Animal Rescue Officer and taken straight to the shelter where I now live in safety. Maybe one day, I will find my own special home. This is something I have never known, but I hear the other dogs here talking about it and I dare to dream.

Did you know that there would have been no hope for me without Soi Dog supporters? The special people who make up the Emergency Response Team are vital when it comes to critical situations like mine.
