HIT BY A CAR AND LEFT FOR DEAD. WILL YOU HELP DOGS LIKE KAEW KARNDA?

I am just 2 years of age and life hasn’t been easy for a stray girl like me. My name is Kaew Karnda.

I am just one of millions of stray dogs in Thailand – life on the streets is all we have ever known. Sometimes it’s tough. You grab food where you can find it and you have to be quick, before another dog beats you to it.

That’s all I was trying to do – just stay alive for another day – when I ran into the busy street. I didn’t see the car until it was too late and it ploughed into me. I will never forget the pain. Flung to the side of the road, I could no longer stand up. The agony I felt in my leg made me cry out but I was alone.

I can’t remember how long I lay there. I had given up on crying when the kindest man found me. He immediately called Soi Dog and I was picked up and brought to the shelter, where Dr. Eugene took over.

I had terrible wounds on my legs and my left back leg was very seriously injured. I heard Dr. Eugene say some of the muscles were exposed and one of the bones. There was also a very large wound which was dangerously infected and full of maggots. It was too late to save my leg.

Dr. Eugene was so kind to me and he made sure I was sleeping when that painful leg was removed. When I woke up I was on special medication for the pain so I felt nothing. Now my long journey to recovery begins.

I know my story is a sad one, but I am actually one of the lucky ones. Thanks to Soi Dog supporters, I received the life-saving medical treatment I needed. Without them – and they are people just like you, all over the world – I would not be alive today. I would surely have died at the side of that road once the infection took hold of my body and blood poisoning set in.

No dog deserves this and YOU can change it. Will you please commit to saving animals like me today? With no government funding, we desperately need you and it really doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference.

With YOUR support, so many more dogs like me can be rescued and given vital medical treatment to save their lives. Without you, there is no hope. Please click on my picture to find out more.
