Signing in from the Macaque Team! Just when we were embarking on our latest project to save macaques, our macaque rescue van broke down. We are in urgent need for help to repair the rescue van. Since the launch of the ACRES Macaque Team in 2013, the van has enabled us to save the lives of several macaques. We have travelled island-wide with the van: responding to macaque emergency calls, conducting field studies and, most recently, experimenting with the new Monkey Guards project.
However, our efforts are seriously hindered now, with no van. The van has several issues which led to its breakdown including faulty brakes, gear box and engine. The cost to repair the van will be approximately $2,000. In addition, the van’s lifespan ends 1 year from now.
We need your help, to help protect Singapore’s long-tailed macaques. Many macaques’ lives are still waiting to be saved.
If you can or you know of anyone who can help us with the repair or sponsorship of a van, please kindly drop an email to Sabrina at sabrina@acres.org.sg
Alternatively, you can make a contribution to our current fund-raising project here:
