SPERM WHALE IN SINGAPORE!
Our friend Ria of Wild Singapore has very helpfully created a blogspot with all the news about the sperm whale. Check it out here: http://wildshores.blogspot.sg/2015/07/whale-in-singapore.html
Its unfortunate that a whale died in our waters, but at the same time it is encouraging news that there are whales in the waters around Singapore.
We are well-known as having one of the busiest ports in the world and a lot of boat traffic, but what is not so well-known is the fact that we have abundant marine life: a fact often forgotten as it is not seen or not easy to see.
The presence of the whale, and also several dolphin sightings over the past few months and years, are positive signs, and these sightings come at a time when we are increasing our marine protection efforts. More awareness brings about greater protection.
Stay tuned to the ACRES Facebook page for more news about our efforts to save Singapores dolphins!
