MONKEY HERDING: AN EXPERIMENTAL TRIAL

Over the past few months, the ACRES Macaque Team have been working together with the residents of several houses in Bukit Timah, to conduct experiments on monkey herding.

Monkey herding is a process whereby �Monkey Guards� act as the primary line of defence to herd macaques away from residential areas. At the same time, they are stationed at hotspot areas to educate and empower the community to adopt several measures to instil harmonious living with their wild neighbours.
