Was It A Toothache, Heidi?

The short story for today is “I think Heidi is going to be alright, after all…Phew!”
Now, here’s the long story…(continuing from last night).
So, Heidi finally came home on her own last night and we found her sleeping on the sofa. That was already a huge relief on its own!
There was only a slight hint of some discharge from her mouth so that was still worrying. Initially, the “drooling” had already made me jump immediately into panic mode. Oh no, drooling = high possibility of being poisoned. No time to waste, we need immediate medical attention. And it did not help that in our attempt to catch her from the drain, we did see her drool and there was some blood in her drool too. Blood from mouth = internal bleeding?
And we couldn’t even catch her….so that made it twice as bad.
So you see why yesterday was a total (albeit self-inflicted) nightmare for me.
After she came home, we monitored her and she did shift positions a few times while she slept (which was good) and she was certainly totally exhausted.
Then, she got up, jumped down from the sofa…
…and asked for food!
And she finished it all, Transfer Factor plus Vetri DMG in the Monge.
This morning, Ginger came to wake me up. When I went downstairs, I saw Heidi in between the window grille and the closed window. She was trying to get out but she was stuck. And the rest of the PatioCats were all concerned (including Zurik). They were all in the porch and had gathered around her, giving her support.
So I quickly let her out (probably needed to ease herself after the night).
Then, she came to eat with the rest.
And she finished all her food too (with TF and Vetri DMG).
All’s well.
Vincent accompanied Heidi.
I think the problem yesterday was her tooth.
To begin with, Heidi already had bad teeth when she first came (she was found siting in front of our gate, from nowhere). A few months ago, she lost one canine, and yesterday, another canine was loose.
Now, we all know how painful a toothache can be. That must have caused a tremendous amount of pain yesterday and the drooling and bleeding were probably related to that one nasty tooth. It looked like a bottom tooth (from what we could see last night), but by this morning, the nasty tooth seemed to have disappeared!
If you notice closely here, do you see a loose tooth in Daffodil’s mouth (her left side)? Daffodil has been having this loose tooth for almost a week now, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering her at all.
Well, with old age, teeth come loose. That happens to us too.
Daffodil is the biggest eater among the PatioCats, and loose tooth or not, she still is!
A small snack.
Those are the supplements I gave her. They are both immune boosters.
You want too, Rosie?
Heidi goes back to her rice cooker to sleep.
That’s her normal routine – sleeping for hours.
Dinner time, and all seems well now.
Phew!
Not poisoning, not internal bleeding, but a nasty toothache.
