Reaching Out To The Young

Yesterday evening, I was invited to address a group of young Buddhists at the Buddhist Gem Fellowship. They were 12-17 year olds.
It was an informal gathering codenamed “Whispers of the Heart” where the participants wrote down their questions anonymously and I would answer them. Their questions were very interesting, challenging (for me!) and even unexpected! It was an eye-opener for me, especially when I would readily confess that I am a little bit out of touch with the last of Generation-Z.
There is always an opportunity to talk about kindness to animals and it was heartening to know that many of the participants chose to take our free books while some said they would read the e-books available in this blog.
One of the participants is also an animal lover and he is currently looking after 3 dogs and 3 cats, all either rescued or adopted from shelters. He asked many questions about his pets.
In the background, the one holding the Primal box is Daniel Ngan, one of the designers of our buntings, our very first tshirt and the latest banner.
Thank you very much to the organising committee for this great opportunity!
Our future lies in the young.
And looking at all these young and highly perceptive minds, there is definitely hope for our future!
