Christine has been writing to me to ask about this stray mother-cat and her kittens who lives around her house. This is Christine's first time learning to care for cats and so I thought a trip to the vet's would be good. At the same time, the cats can go for a check-up, too, since one of the kittens have diarrhoea. So, Christine came to borrow my carrier yesterday, and she managed to catch all three (mother and the kittens) today.
That's Christine in yellow and her daughter, Zoey. Zoey says she has read all my books. She's reading Rainbow Bridge in the photo above.
That's the mum, Ginger, and one of the kittens.
Pretty little things, aren't they?
Their names are Sorren and Toffee.
All seems well. Ginger has a bit of mange on the ears. One of the kittens was dewormed (Christine had dewormed the other herself).
One of the kittens also has diarrhoea, so a boiled chicken diet was prescribed.
Christine asked quite a bit about cat-care. We hope she will consider adopting this family as it would really be good for Zoey to learn how to care for animals. Christine said she actually doesn't even like cats, but it seems like this cat-family is tugging at her heart-strings now....(we hope!).
Christine also asked if we can help sponsor the cost of spay-neuter for a few neighbourhood strays. Yes, of course we can.
