Pet World 2015 Day 1

I was really lucky today as Jasmine offered to drive me to Pet World. We met Joy there and set-up was faster with 3 pairs of hands.
Jasmine and Joy.
We’re lucky Jasmine is tall!
Featuring our supermodels, Pole and Yoshee!
I did not have time to sew more blankets so two is all we had.
Thinking that with GST and all, visitors would be looking for the best-buy products, we specially prepared a RM5 box (where every item is RM5). But guess what today’s bestsellers were?
The Orifera shampoo, Bacoff’s SanDeo (Sanitising Deodoriser), Orifera toothpaste and Orifera Soap! The soap comes as no surprise as it’s always a bestseller and many were repeat buyers.
A visitor wearing our tshirt, she says it’s very comfortable.
It was also interesting that some of our visitors were applicants who had claimed from us previously; they came to visit to tell us and thank us, but they didn’t know I was “Dr Chan”. Many thought that “Dr Chan” was a man. Ha ha…maybe I write like a man in the emails?
And both blankets were bought up by the same visitor!
Now this uncle came by and had a very strange story to tell. He is an OKU (he has his OKU identity card hung around his neck too) and he is also a dog lover and dog rescuer. He collects cardboard to sell for a living. He has got more than 30 street dogs neutered at an organisation but he alleged that he was told he wasn’t allowed to claim from us. I explained that we certainly do not have such a rule. We subsidise every single case as long as our policies are followed.
So I spent quite some time explaining how we work to this uncle and I advised him to get someone who could email us so that he could deal with us directly.
The day wore on and we had many visitors. There was just no time to answer texts, check emails or answer phonecalls. Or even take photographs. Luckily I had brought lunch along from home. There was no time to even leave the booth. Many people came to ask about our subsidies. Now, that’s a good thing.
For a Friday crowd, today’s was good and unexpected.
Mei (in red) came as a visitor to the fair and ended up helping us out as well; she stayed until closing.
Thank you very much, Mei.
Tomorrow will be Day 2.
Hope to see you there!!
