From Peggy, after the visit to the vet yesterday:

As regards Ginger, the vet said by the look of the wound, it doesn't look anything like sporo or cryptocococcis. He said the wound is too clean to be it. He cut off all the dirty bits, and scraped a bit off the wound onto the slide, and look under the microscope. What th earlier vet did was, he pressed the slide on the wound, but I could see the slide was all smudge. Could the smudge be stuck with some fungus or spores, is it possible, I really don't know what to think.

Come to think of it, ginger's wound could have been more than a year (can't remember when I took him to the vet regarding his wound). My son said it was before he went to london, so it has to be more than a year.

I searched internet regarding sporo and crypto, but ginger's wound doesn't seem to have the characteristics of both diseases. I think I have come across two cases of skin cancer, sporo or crypto. They have exactly the same symptoms as described on the internet. The cats didn't come back just after a few months. The vet told me it could be cancer.

This vet said it could be allergy of some sort, and ginger's scratching made it worst. It could also be mast cell cancer. He gave him a jab for both the allergy and cancer, and another antibiotic jab. I will take ginger back to him for another antibiotic jab in two days time. He needs three or four antibiotic jab for the wound. He will also see ginger in two weeks time as regards the allergy/cancer.

So, this vet said there's no point in taking the drug for sporo.
One step at a time, I suppose.

Yes, one thing at a time. I have also consulted both vets after receiving the news. Ultimately, as the rescuer, it is Peggy's call and we will support her in whatever ways we can.

So, we'll try these jabs for now and see if there is any improvement. If so, that's good. If not, it'll be back to the drawing board again to determine what it is.
