MORE DOGS JUST LIKE ULARN DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP

My name is Ularn, and I have lived on the streets of Phuket my whole life. I have never had a family to call my own, or a safe place to go when I needed it. I am now four years old, and I think I have looked after myself quite well, but recently I really did need some help.

I found myself in a terrible situation when I injured my eye. As a result, my eyeball popped out of its socket, causing me the most horrendous pain. Lucky for me, a kind lady who comes and gives me food noticed. She told me not to worry, that she had contacted Soi Dog to come and get me to bring me back to their clinic.

The vet�s took one look at me and knew there was no chance of saving my eye. They said my eyeball has started to necrotise. I had to get them to explain that to me and they said it meant my eyeball had died. They said if they didn�t do surgery to remove my eye, I might get really sick. They said my eyeball may become infected and I could die.

I have now had my surgery and am recovering well. I am on antibiotics to make sure my wound doesn�t get infected and pain killers, which I am very grateful for.

While I am happy to have been helped, it is really crowded here in the clinic at Soi Dog and I hear the vets saying they don�t have enough space to work or that they can�t help all the dogs they need to be helping. This makes me really sad as I want all the homeless dogs to get the care they need. I am really worried about them.

The vets did tell me that a new hospital is being built, that will have more space to treat more dogs in need and better facilities so dogs can get the treatment they need. More donations are needed though to help finish this hospital, which I think is very urgent, as dogs are suffering while they wait.
