Were very grateful to several members of the public who have helped raise awareness among their own community about our native wild animals and how to protect them.
Today, wed like to express our heartfelt thanks to two of our long-term rescue volunteers – Alpana Ahuja and Chuen Ling Lee who, as well as assisting with our hands-on rescue work, have also been helping ACRES and the animals in their own ways. Here are two examples of the two ladies helping our native wildlife when not on duty with ACRES!
Alpana helped to identify a paradise tree snake at her friends residence, enlightening her on the species characteristics and habitat. She also thanked her friend for convincing the cleaner to refrain from killing the snake. Thank you, Alpana!
Recently, Chuen Ling was activated for a snake hiding behind some shoes at her neighbours house. She helped to identify the snake to be a striped kukri and relocated the snake to the safety of the green spaces nearby. Thank you, Ling!
If you have a rescue story to share, please do so in the comments below! Help us tag, celebrate and connect the everyday heroes of Singapore’s wildlife!
Do remember to call the ACRES 24-hour Wildlife Rescue Hotline at 9783 7782 if you spot any wild animal in Singapore who may need help.
