WHAT MOTIVATES OUR INTERNS AND VOLUNTEERS? LETS ASK LISE!

Lise has been devoting her time and efforts as an ACRES intern for the past two months, working extremely hard, come rain or shine, to do her best the animals in her care. We asked her a few questions to learn more about what drives her to do her part to protect wild animals in Singapore!

1. How did you get involved with ACRES?

- I love nature. I study Wildlife Biology and I wanted hands-on experience with animals. I chose ACRES because it gives me the opportunity to work with animals.

2. What experience have you gained so far?

- Ive learned a lot about reptiles; things which I didnt know before. Ive learned how to manage myself when given different tasks and how to be organised with my time, which I never knew I had in me. In short, I learned a lot about the animals at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC) and animals in Singapore.

3. Why do you think its important to save wildlife?

- Wildlife is essential to our world and is part of what makes the world beautiful. It is our responsibility to preserve wildlife, especially in busy cities like Singapore where wild animals are often forgotten or endangered.

4. What message or advice would give to your peers who share the same passion as you to make a difference for animals?

- You mustnt be afraid to take the initiative to take the first step. Dont hesitate, dont procrastinate. Start doing something now and you will see that is very rewarding.

Thank you Lise, for sharing your thoughts!
