We do not count days, but moments and we rejoice now in this good news from Agnes:
Snowy is very alert today (5th day) and has been eating and drinking on his own. He was walking around inside the cage to look at the surroundings. Dr Tan was very kind to let me have a month's supply of RetroMAD1 at a dosage of 0.3ml, once per day. Can also give twice a day. If fresh supply is forthcoming, I'll ask Snowy's vet to give twice/day. Dr Tan said this drug won't work if the animal's liver is damaged. I showed Dr Tan the lab report which shows Snowy's liver is good. I managed to talk to Snowy's vet today after his return from housecall and showed him the RetroMAD1 which he will start this evening. He will inform me when another X-ray is required to see if the fluid is filling the chest cavity again. I decided against chemo since the survival rate is not promising. The vet will continue to give antibotics plus steroids. Thanks very very much for your recommendation to Dr Tan and Petfinder.my.
Snowy drinking water on his own.
Snowy very alert.
Let's all cheer Snowy on and send him our positive healing energy and our prayers. It does help.
PetFinder.my will put up a donation appeal for Snowy up to a maximum of RM500. We will sponsor the rest and hope Maria too can raise some funds on her own.
Updates at 10.25pm - Agnes says her Metta Karuna Rescue Team will raise the balance from their team members for this initial bill. We foresee Snowy needing medical care for quite some time as treatment is only starting now. We will be on standby to help with his needs and support him all the way.
