Since Snowy is FeLV positive, it occurred to me last night that rather than just providing palliative care for him, we could try RetroMAD1 as well.
So, first thing this morning I contacted the scientist and he said in their earlier trials, the drug did kill off human Non-Hodgkins Beta Lymphoma cells and did not affect normal cells. If the ratio is at least 50 per cent normal cells, it's worth a try.
So, that's it. I proposed this to Agnes and she said YES. We're going to try. I contacted Dr Tan in Puchong, and there is still supply, so Agnes has already taken it now and sent it to Snowy.
Snowy will start on the drug as soon as possible.
The good news today is that Snowy is eating kibbles on his own.
Snowy has been diagnosed with Lymphoma which has resulted in pleural effusion (fluids in the lungs). In such cases, it is usually terminal though there is treatment - chemotherapy and the steroid Prednisolone.
We do not want to give up on Snowy, just as we do not give up on any case that seek our help.
Let's all pray for Snowy to recover, shall we? Collective prayer and positive thoughts help.
