To See Celine is to Love Celine.

Please e-mail cristy@soidog.org to adopt Celine.

A butter cream beauty as softly sweet as her coat, Celine is, above all else, a survivor. A survivor of the streets of Thailand, a survivor of a shattering car crash that cost her a leg, a survivor who has lost an eye and is nearly blind in the other, and a survivor of a lengthy overseas flight to a strange, new land.

A survivor who you would think could never be as happy as she is. And yet 6-year-old Celine is all of that and more.

Safe now in her Canadian foster home, Celine is thriving. She may see shadows with her remaining eye because she seems to track her foster mom as she moves about, and Celine herself moves through the house without incident. Despite having only three legs, she’s blithely unaware of her deficit, and gets around perfectly well, thank you!

Calm and gentle, Celine is eager to learn and easy to teach, adapting quickly to each new situation. Remarkably relaxed, she loves gnawing on her chew bones and settling down to listen to the birds in the backyard. Could anything represent freedom more to a once sickly stray than the lilting melodies of a bird?

Hale and hearty now, she eats well, rides well in the car, is fully housetrained, and sleeps quietly through the night. Due to her diminished sight, Celine has learned to respond to the word “careful” when walking on leash, and to her name or a tongue click when playing in the yard. Amiable and affectionate, she loves being scratched behind her right ear, and adores both tender pats and reassuring rubs, accompanied by a soothing series of “good girl” for good measure.

She gets along best with easygoing dogs like herself, and now that she’s ready claim her part of the Canadian dream, Celine hopes to find a forever home with calm and loving people, and a gentle dog or two as the icing on her doggy dream cake.

Celine is currently being fostered in British Columbia, Canada and is hoping to find a permanent home nearby. Are you the family or individual, destined to give this girl the home she deserves?

If so, please e-mail cristy@soidog.org to find out how.
