You Are The Only Hope For Dogs Like Boogaloo

I am an old boy called Boogaloo. Born on the streets of Thailand, I have lived there all my life – the only home I have ever known. I am now over 11 years old.

I arrived at the Soi Dog shelter after the people here received a call about a dog that had been found covered in tumours. That was me. The tumours were all over different parts of my body and my tail was particularly bad.

At the shelter, I was also diagnosed with anaemia, demodectic mange that had caused all my fur to fall out, and other tick-borne illnesses. Along with the tumours, I was covered in crusty, weeping sores and was severely malnourished. I had been suffering for some time.

I will now undergo surgery to remove these masses and the vets say that because my tail is beyond repair, it will have to be amputated. When I have sufficiently recovered, I will need to be started on chemotherapy for a separate cancerous tumour the vets have found.

They say these tumours – called TVT, or transmissible venereal tumours – are very common in the street dogs of Thailand and they are very used to curing them. I am just happy to finally be shown love. There is a first time for everything but I have waited a long time.

Will you please help dogs like me? With no government funding, we would continue to suffer without people like you. It is only thanks to Soi Dog supporters that I am now being started on the treatment I need, but as you read this, another stray animal like me desperately needs you.

Please help to end the suffering. No amount is too small to make a difference. YOU are the only hope we have. Please don’t let us down.

Every day, Soi Dog Foundation picks up sick and injured stray animals that are in desperate need of medical treatment. With no government funding, we urgently need YOUR support to save them.
