This dog was dumped at our new center today. A family came in and wanted to surrender their dog. They said that they didn’t have time to take care of him and that they were going to adopt a puppy instead. We explained that puppies take much more time to take care of than grown up dogs, and furthermore that it was cruel to the dog to abandon him for something younger and cuter. We also explained that we have a waiting list full of rescued animals patiently waiting to come in once we have room. However, they didn’t listen, and left.

Ten minutes later we found him dumped outside our center. This is a very clear case of illegal dumping and a police report has been made. Furthermore there are holes in the dog’s ears, which they said were a birth defect but are clearly human-made piercings.

The saddest thing is that soon these people will be adopting another puppy. And in a few months’ time, that puppy might end up dumped, just like this one.
