In October 2009, WWF-Malaysias patrol team discovered this snared tiger after noticing two suspicious motorbikes in the area. Based on the severity of the wound inflicted by the snare, it was estimated that the tiger had been caught in the snare for more than one day. Although the tiger was saved and treated, it didn’t survive the wound and stress, and died shortly after.

WWF-Malaysias patrol team act as eyes and ears in supporting the enforcement authorities effort in curbing wildlife crime.
