[BREAKING NEWS] Tanjong Malim Council Launches Appalling “1 Dog 10 Ringgit” Campaign

The Tanjong Malim, Perak council has just announced an appalling stray dog catching campaign beginning June 3rd, where they are “rewarding” the public to send in stray dogs in exchange for a RM10 bounty.

Original Council Post:

There is incomplete information available, and the council did not specify what would happen to these surrendered dogs, but they would likely be put down.

We strongly believe that this method of incentivizing the public to conduct mass culling of innocent strays is neither humane nor effective as a long term strategy in curbing stray overpopulation.

We urge the compassionate public to immediately contact the Tanjong Malim council and their local MP, Y.B. Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, to reconsider this decision.
