These are snares and bird traps, found not far from the Gerik-Jeli Highway which cuts across the Belum-Temengot Forest Complex, one of WWF-Malaysia’s tiger research areas. Based on the size of the wire snares, it was apparent that the poachers were targeting large mammals, including tigers.

Putting more people on the ground for research and patrolling helps reduce to number of poachers that encroach into our forests. You can help us do this by supporting our project at http://bit.ly/1IC31el
