I went to visit Mimi today. Mimi is Mayo Clinic's other resident-cat. Her brother, Dodo, passed away last month of kidney problems (no warning, just one day, and that's it). Mimi also has kidney problems but has hung on (on drips) for four days now....
Mimi does not seem to be conscious. She has lost so much weight too. The vet says even while on drips, she is dehydrated. Her kidneys must have failed.
It is so sad....yet, this is what we all might have to go through too, when our time comes. We can only hope it would be fast like Dodo's, but do we have a choice? I don't think so. It would be dependent on whatever karma that ripens at that time...good or bad, we won't know.
I went to see Mimi again, before going home.
Her prognosis is very poor.
May you be free from suffering, Mimi.
Just like your brother, Dodo, you've been such a great cat, playing host to all the sick cats who come to the clinic for treatment.
This is what life on Earth is all about - we come, we do all the good we can, and then we leave.
That just about sums it all up.
