Official SPCA comment on the posts over the last 18 hours: A request was made by the owner in which the dog was housed. SPCA deliberately delayed the request and gave the owner time to think over before requesting euthanasia. A week later, the owner called to urgently have the dog taken to be euthanized as the dog was unmanageable. Furthermore, the dog has bitten a member of the family. A form to request for euthanasia was duly signed. We deem that the people staying in the house are the rightful owners of the dog. The charge for the service was paid to cover the cost of euthanasia at a veterinary clinic, carcass removed etc. If there is an issue within the family, the family should settle it themselves and stop involving SPCA which acted in good faith. All other people who are commenting on this issue are barking up the wrong tree. If they have an issue, please contact the owner. We will not respond to any further comments made.
